How To Strategize Social Media Marketing Efforts For Any Business Objective, Small Or Big
Companies, all shapes and sizes are jumping into the social media networks like Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter. Social Media marketing fits in perfectly with the Inbound Marketing techniques businesses, big and small, have been transitioning towards in the past year. When you think about it, it makes sense as Inbound Marketing delivers a lower cost per lead than the more traditional outbound marketing techniques. And with businesses finding that they are able to close real customers with social media outlets within that inbound marketing strategy more companies are expanding their social media marketing budget.
Social Media doesn’t cost money to start, but they will cost time and energy. This needs to be as cost effective as possible, especially for smaller businesses doing this for themselves as opposed to larger companies hiring out. Social media requires the physically posting of content on a consistent basis. So how would a small business strategize their social media marketing efforts for the biggest return on time spent?
The main strategy for any business marketing objective utilizing social media is to connect with the community, create quality content, and engage connections. When you begin to connect with others it’s all about quality over quantity. Think about it from a business perspective and build your connections strategically. The next step is probably the most important. You’ll want to create quality content that your connections will want to read. Every time you post you have the opportunity to create content or point to content. Make it worthwhile content. You also have the opportunity to link to your company’s website or business blog, link to articles and information of value, or link to other media such as videos, podcasts, or pictures. You’ll want to post content frequently to gain attention and build momentum, but remember it needs to be considered of value. And last, but certainly not least, you’ll need to engage the connections you are building. You want to post and comment often to interact with them. Maybe ask a question related to your business to gain insight and feedback to better your company’s product or services. With social media, the key is to connect. The more you connect, the more will come back to you.
