Keywords
What are keywords?
Keywords are words or phrases you choose to emphasize when creating a web page or article. A keyword could be "dog leash" or more specifically "blue polka dotted dog leash". The more specific your keyword selection, the more likely you will be found on the Internet for that phrase.
For example, the keyword dog leash in google returns around 1.6 million websites, but blue polka dotted dog leash returns a measly 18,000. If you are a small business providing a niche product or service, use that to your advantage! It's easier to get placed higher in search engines for something which less people search for.
Support
Small Business Website Support
Small business website support is something many small business don't even think about. They go ahead, find a company named cheapwebsite.com, pay their $99 and get online. The problem is once they are online, who installs security updates for the website? Who restores the site when your cousin tries to add that stat counter to the bottom of the page and ends up taking out the entire Internet? Website support for your small business is critical and yet often overlooked.
Branding

My definition: Having your brand in front of your target customers as often as manageable.
Branding is big component of your business program. You shouldn't to search further than your TV to determine this. On your tv set you encounter dozens of advertisments with businesses like Pepsi, Coca Cola, and Nike. These businesses don't stand there and endeavor to go over with you why their goods is better than their competitions during the short commercial, their primary goal is merely brand reinforcement. What they want to accomplish is get you smile and possibly laugh during their ad.
Logo
Logos
Logos are one of those things where it really doesn't matter what the company designing your website thinks it should look like, it matters what you want it to look like. I mean really, what if they like pink and purple, but you want it to be an elegant black and white logo?
Getting a logo can get expensive, check out this list of million dollar logos! See that logo up there, the Starz logo? 25 MILLION DOLLARS! Obviously if some of the largest companies in the world think it's worth it to spend crazy amounts of cash on their logo, you shouldn't overlook yours. You don't have to spend that kind of money to get a decent logo. The reason it costs companies like that so much is they do a lot of field testing, focus groups and more to see what the public things of the new logo. This is all before they even decide on the final version.
